AU EVENT

Sat, 27 Apr 2013 19:39:45 GMT

OK maybe I should do an AU checklist, for posterity if nothing else. SORT OF UMINEKO SPOILERS. But it's a fictionalized interpretation of things so don't think this AU is something that actually happens in canon or anything, in the way that it's presented here. The short version is Beato's AU is a classy androgynous dude named Lion who looks similar enough to Beatrice to be identifiable to people who know her well, but different enough that it probably takes some head-tilting.

( ...BUT YEAH IT'S PRETTY UMINEKO SPOILERS NEVERTHELESS. )

I think I made it to the point where actually there are so many differences that I don't know which differences to list orz QUESTIONS CAN BE FIELDED HERE IF THERE ARE ANY MORE OBVIOUS ONES I FORGOT

Skill 14 - Beginner Magic

Fri, 14 Sep 2012 02:11:57 GMT

HOORAY FOR FINALLY STARTING ON THE OFFENSIVE MAGIC SKILL TRACK

This skill however does not... particularly cover any of that. This is all the first-year Hogwarts kind of stuff. Moving/creating/disappearing small objects, locking and unlocking doors, small candle-level flames, changing clothes magically... Basically any miscellaneous magic that's more subtle and innocuous than say "lighting people on fire" or anything similarly dramatic.

A good barometer for the level of magic expressed in this skill is if she could theoretically do it within a few minutes on her own, now she can do it... with magic!!

Skill 9

Thu, 22 Mar 2012 03:26:37 GMT

Okay I have A LOT OF WRITEUPS TO DO YET (luckily I am just saying that Beatrice is behind in taking memories) but Beatrice has met up with a Persona and now one of her more recent skills is now going to be effective.

A summary, since the effects are unignorably obvious:
1) Beatrice henceforth properly looks like the person in her icons where previously there were some things "off"
2) There were will be 2 other people out and about under Beatrice's account name!
3) Beatrice will be "regularly" (pending her actually taking memories regularly) visiting the beach to pay off her debt to the Sea Witch.

( A more spoilery and in-depth explanation! )

STOP PROCRASTINATING ON MEMORY WRITEUPS!!1 no never. this memory is even more abstract than usual ones are so I won't bother to mess with it too much

( Enough with that phrase 'because I am furniture'... )

TOO BRAINDEAD FOR SECOND MEMORY WRITEUP EVEN IN THE LAZIEST TERMS; it's something that's been referenced in other memories and it gets better later but it's still like lolol. Also Jessica, girl, you don't even know.

Memories 31, 32; Skill 8

Thu, 29 Dec 2011 03:35:49 GMT

catchin' upppp THANK GOD THESE ARE ALL PRETTY BASIC TO WRITE UP.

( Memory 31 - Significant Positive - beginning the game against Battler; 'In other words, this is torture.' )

AS FOR THIS NEXT MEMORY, I put on my registry that it was writing and sealing the letters, but really the important part is that she sends a number of letters throughout the series, and I wanted to make sure the content of those letters was on her registry SINCE SHE PROBABLY WROTE THEM. So this is less a script memory and more a transcription of those!!

( Memory 32 - Significant Neutral - the letters )

( Skill 8 - FLAGS/CONFETTI/FANFARE ENTRANCE!! )

POSTING WITHOUT READING IT OVER SO IF THERE ARE ANY ERRORS I WILL FIX THEM AFTER LUNCH WHUPS

( Memory 26 - Trivial Neutral - You mean like the ugly duckling becoming a swan? )
( Memory 27 - Trivial Positive - The witch must be busy killing, reviving, breaking up, and reuniting people. )
( Memory 28 - Significant Positive - Ahahahaha. It probably is Earl Grey. )
( Memory 29 - Significant Neutral - She is more beautiful than you, wiser than you, more suitable than you. )

Skill 4, Skill 5, Skill 6

Tue, 26 Jul 2011 07:43:45 GMT

shoobeedoo, I haven't been posting skill writeups since there's not much to say, but I may as well consolidate them...

Chess
Beato will utterly destroy you at chess unless you are also known to salt the earth of your rival chess kingdoms. But also, she spends more time in canon making chess metaphors than actually playing chess, so this will unlock her full repertoire of things that I have to look up on Wikipedia. :V

Floating/Flight
A useful special skill!!! But yes, she can hover in midair and fly and stuff. idk if this needs a powercap, but I'd assume flying distances is about as tiring as walking them, and floating would be about as tiring as standing in place for a while. Not that this will stop her from sitting in midair whenever she feels like it, as one does.

Firearms/Explosives
:3c The guns used in the series are sawed-off Winchester rifles! idk anything about guns, but canon states that they need some experience and practice to reload and use easily. She also uses old-fashioned dueling pistols |D Really I don't think it's too much to assume she could pick up other guns easily enough (though the more modern they are the more confused she might be).

As for the explosives, I don't have access to EP7 to check the details or what kind they are, but the conversation kinda goes like:

"How do you know the bombs still work?"
"Oh, I tested them myself. :|a They super work."

These explosives are hooked up to a timer in a different location, and she removed one of them and managed to put it somewhere ELSE different and still remotely detonate it on its own somehow, so I figure... she definitely has more knowledge about how to do this than I do.

YOU GUYS I JUST LIKE THIS MEME A LOT!!

AND I AM A LOT BETTER AT IT THAN QUESTION MEMES

Comment here, listing your characters, and which of my characters they know. I'll reply with an affection~ meter~ to let you know what how they feel about you.

In terms of progression, it goes red --> blue --> yellow --> pink, with 1-5 dots signifying how close you are to moving to the next level.

Beato's baseline is a plain blue circle of indifference. But Peridot's baseline is high yellow into pink :B
Shuri's baseline for everyone is yellow 8D

to beato, or not to beato

Wed, 15 Jun 2011 01:59:33 GMT

I found this VERY SPOILERY INTERVIEW and while a lot of it talks about the technical aspects of the mystery, I feel like preserving and commenting on the things that give me confirmation and vindication as a roleplayer!!!1 Which will ALSO HAVE VERY SPOILERS. Rambling about canon Beatrice vs. Aather Beatrice etc. etc.

( this is not really an essay so much as 'yay ryukishi is nice to me' )

OKAY THAT'S IT THOUGH. THE END OF MY RAMBLING!!! Mostly I'm just like "awww yeahhhh interpretation mostly supported by longass interview!!"
